Economy - overview:
The Rovenian economy is significantly agricultural, though some mining and manufacturing is
along the country's lengthy coastline. Unlike the other former Guwimith Dependencies, the
government of Rovens has not been the beneficiaries of surrendered Guwimithian assets, as
most assets were already owned by those in the Guwimithian colony, Port of Olives, and most
of those people remain in Rovens. Therefore, the government controls a very small segment of
the national economy, while asset distribution is very heavily concentrated in the east coast
Guwimithian-speaking part of the country. The nation is in need of
economic development, and poverty eradication, but the government is effectively penniless
and the assets heavily concentrated in the hands of a few. In the near future, the nation will
introduce the new currency, the Roj, which will need to be backed by a Reserve Bank, which
currently has no funding. These issues will continue to dominate Rovenian government for some
years.
