HAASTADT, Rovens (RIM) -- While the country's capital is under the control of its elite Paratrooper Battalion, the leader of the attempted Coup D'Etat has gone on television calling on the army to support the coup.

Appearing on national television, the Coup master, commander of the country's Paratrooper Battalion, Colonel Enra Zegannin called on the Army to join in the coup and declare the "communist" government of Rovens dead.   Zegannin and spokesman

The Colonel said that the country had been failed by the government of President K'yonte and called on the President to stand down. He said that the "people of Rovens deserve better".

Listing the failures of the government, the Colonel listed various infrastructural items, but focused mostly on the "failure to provide a safe and secure country", referring to the government's policy of negotiating with communist groups who control large segments of the country, rather than evicting them by force. The policy is the most hated by the country's military.

As yet, General Keralski, CiC of the Rovens armed forces, has not spoken to the press, and has not yet condemned the coup. The country will await his response with eagarness, as it will be his response that determines the fate of the Peoples Republic.
