Why Rovens?
Storylines. Yes. That IS really it. I have a plan for Utania over the next nine years, but there are certain things I cannot realistically do with Utania that I wish to play out. Story possibilities that require a different culture, nation and situation. Therefore, Rovens. Is this just territory grabbing, more imperialism? Absolutely, definitely, and without a shadow-of-doubt in my mind: "NO". Rovens is most certainly going to be a different nation, a separate nation, a distinct nation, as Altland is to Phenixia, Albion-Merité is to Zartania, Eichensehria is to Christiana (hmmm, not sure about the examples ;-). Utania will not be the rulers of Rovens, and even the PIMR have been clear enough to say that there is NO CHANCE that they will fall under Utanian control. There will certainly be a good deal of interaction, but as Rovens will be taking a different direction to Utania, they won't be sister-states. (I can't elaborate too much lest I give away the whole plotline!) You say that, even though Gvonj province is Utani people? Yes. Utania will not rule Gvonj. Okay, I admit, at some stage in the future, I do envisage Gvonj electing to eventually join Utania, but this is long-off into the future. I can't put an exact figure on it, but let's say it won't happen until at least 303 AP. Any other questions, feel free to email me personally, or post to E*Group. I want this process to be as open and clear so that all of you are comfortable with my establishing Rovens. |
