After the collapse of the Guwimithian Empire, the peoples of Rovens were is disarray, each
trying to convince the United Nations of Vexillium administration, UNVCOCN "Gvonj", that each
should be granted control of various sub-divisions of the territory, or the entire lot. Each
proposal failed to convince the UNVCOCN Administration.
It is for this reason that "Gvonj" has been the last nation of the five to reach the point of asking the UNV for self-determination. But, we are here now, more determined than ever to succeed, not as three nations, but one. It was decided that the ONLY way to gain acceptance from the UNV was to forge a common proposal for a single nation of the three competing peoples. Only this way would convince the people, and the UNVCOCN that the nation was serious about going forward. Therefore, each town and city was asked to send delegates to a common independence assembly by the architects of this new regime. One delegate would be sent for each 100,000 people for a region or city. 174 delegates arrived in Haastadt, in the country's south east, to discuss a way forward. Through this, the PIMR was born, consisting of 154 of the delegates, thus representing the overwhelming majority of the people. The Peoples Independence Movement for Rovens is made up of primarily eleven political parties and movements, and, like the nation itself, is a coalition devoted to common purpose first, internecine politics second. (The parties include the Armatirian Socialist League, the Republican Movement of Gvonj, the Social Democratic Party, the Democratic Socialist Union, the Guwimithian Socialist Party, the Guidarman Peoples Party, the Conservative Party of Kotovsk, and the M'Djoban Democratic Party.) We now seek approval from the UNV to go ahead with a plebiscite to accept the constitution of a democratic, socialist nation named The Peoples Republic of Rovens. |
