Staff
The men and women who will help shape the Crusader's team are listed here. They are
the dedicated souls who have joined the UFA Crusader's Administration for the
pleasure of serving their country as best they know how.
Coach: Thomas Amayu
Thomas Amayu (pron. Ah-mah-yoo), 44, is probably the most well-known player from the
280s in Utania, and, in his day, was a player of the best international standards.
He was a midfield-forward for B'yantusu RFC before joining the dashing Mulgrave
team, where he played some of the best football the country has seen in the SIPA
(predecessor to the UFA), putting the team in the top 4.
It was on June 13th, 286, that Amayu was subject of the most controversial
act of the time: being removed from the Mulgrave team for performing too well.
Pushing the Mulgrave dependencies team 3-1 over the Guwimithian National team,
Amayu challenged the Guwimithian notion of genetic superiority. (Only Guwimithians
were permitted in the national team.)
In latter years, Amayu has been coach of the B'yantusu team he started out
with.
Amayu joins the Utanian Crusader's staff as Coach, chief trainer of the team,
with a staff of nine under his command, and the biggest and best facilities at his
disposal.

Facilities
The equipment and facilities made available to the team have been substantially
upgraded from what was in use prior to March 302.
The latest training equipment has been imported, the best in physiotherapy
techniques employed by a team physiotherapist, the first, with getting the best out
of players' bodies is considered the next step forward in training the country's
best.
UFA Oval has been made exclusively available to the Crusaders, the oval with
an 11,000 seat stadium, underneath and around which are the offices of the UFA.
The UFA has mandated that Crusader players will be made available for
training at least once per month for three full days, a move fully supported by the
clubs [Tech: Right, fellas? Right!]
Budget
While the final figure for the budget is not public domain, Utanian fans can be
assured that the UFA is sparing no expense in equipping the national team with all
that they will need to perform at their optimal best on the international stage.
Players are provided with free air or bus travel to and from training
sessions, and are paid an annual stipend for being available for matches of
Û30,000. Atop of this is a match fee of Û12,000, and various other
bonuses for various achievements or performances.
Players beyond the team twenty-two are often brought in to train with the
team and may number up to fifty players. These are provided with an "Availability
bonus" of Û1,900 per annum.
